The Identity Documents Project assists transgender and gender nonconforming individuals obtain legal name change orders and update gender markers on state and federal IDs, birth certificates, and other documents. Over the past three years, the Identity Documents Project at NYU School of Law has raised over $11,000 and supported over 100 individuals in the process of changing their name or gender markers on government documents.
