Islamic Center of Saint Cloud is in need of your help, the center is very important to the community since it has over 700 students learning their deen. Please read more about what the center does and donate as much as you can.
Masjid goals and projects:
-To produce hafidhs of the Quran (males and females alike) -Produce future teachers
-We have former hafidhs who are now teachers, and teacher's assistant
-the teacher assistants are being trained to become teachers as well -produce young men who lead the community in prayer including tahajud and taraweeh & and we have also started this, so the hafidhs from the former year have been leading the salahs
-muadhins have been produced and more to come in shaa Allah
-our goal is for every muslim child/student to be able to attend dugsi (madarasah) and not be on a waiting list.
Currently we have more than 100+ students on the waiting list due to lack of space. Therefore, this project (buying the new place) would help us accommodate the community as a whole -our future goals include designing classes that are specific to educating the Non-Muslims -producing da'ees and having training seminars (future- can't do this now due to lack of space) -create a safe space for students to come to after school and get tutored in various subjects that they need help with (future plan- again lack of space doesn't allow us to do this) Current fundraising campaign: we have approximately $400,000. The sellers want $650,000 by May 16th, the total money we are supposed to pay is $850,000 and the second payment is due by October. So our goal is for maintainamasjid.com to raise $300,000 for us if possible. Extra information: -currently more than 700 students attend the lessons at the masjid -we have rented a place other than the masjid because the students did not all fit into our current facility -more than 100 students are on a waiting list -we still haven't reached our goal despite the fact that many parents have been assigned to pay $1,000 per family - not everyone paid. Things we have done and still doing: -Ruqyah support- free of charge, fesabilillah -family counseling- daily, one on one -marriage ceremonies -20+ people have taken their shahadah in this masjid and many have become fluent in reading the Quran due to the programs they were offered here. In fact, there are hafidhs who have been Muslim for about 2-3 years now, and who have strong connections to the masjid. -reach out to non muslims - tours for college classes and presentations held for them- this year, 70 students have visited who are non muslim -Non Muslmis get invited to an iftar dinner every year during ramadan (lawyers, doctors, important local figures, mayor, prinicipals' of the district etc) -tahajud prayers during ramadan -weekday lessons/halaqahs, and islamic lessons. -the imams are the mediators between schools, community and muslim community at large -we are also in the process of buying a cemetery. it costs $160,000 and we have $120,000 and the other $40,000 have been promised by locals- so we are good to go on the cemetery in shaa All
