Iron Co Medical Center Needs Help.

The entire Iron County Medical Center team is committed to doing what it takes to bring long-term sustainability to our vital rural health care facility.  The filing of Chapter 9 bankruptcy was a necessary step to provide relief from creditors as we continue to implement changes and improvements on our structured path to success.  While many of the projects will take considerable time and effort, there are a few critical “asks” that would provide assistance fairly quickly.  One is a "YES" vote for the additional 1/2 cent hospital sales tax that will be on the April 3, 2018 ballot.  While a "YES" vote would amount to $5.00 for every $1,000.00 spent on purchases and municipal utilities in Iron County, it could amount to as much as $400,000/year to help ICMC. 
 
Another is philanthropic donations – which is why we are establishing a “Go Fund Me” initiative. As we strive to meet the obligations of our payback to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and our debt to the USDA, our AP debts remain high. Our race to reach our goal is clearly a marathon, not a sprint, but it will be extremely difficult to reach the finish line without cheerleaders, supporters and some philanthropy along the way.  Our goal is $500,000.
