<div>Goma Upendo is a personal initiative run by volunteers. Due to the urgency of the situation, the organization has not yet been registered with the Congolese government. We are based in Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo, and our mission is to improve the living conditions of people displaced by conflict, who are living in increasingly precarious situations.

<div>In the eastern part of the country, in displacement camps, thousands of families live in temporary shelters, often ill-suited to the weather conditions. Torn from their homes, they endure rain, cold, and intense heat every day. Their living conditions are dire, but we have a dream: to build 100 temporary shelters to provide these families with a dignified and secure refuge.

<div>For us, a shelter is much more than just a roof:

<div>• It’s a place where children can finally sleep in peace.
</div>
<div>• It’s a space where parents can regain some dignity.
</div>
<div>• It’s a first step toward hope and the rebuilding of a better life.

Arrachées à leurs foyers, elles subissent chaque jour la pluie, le froid et la chaleur intense. Leurs conditions de vie sont dramatiques, mais nous avons un rêve : construire 100 abris provisoires pour offrir à ces familles un refuge digne et sécurisé.
