<div>Ich, Ricarda Victoria Sörens, werde endlich, ab <strong>September 2025</strong>, an einem <strong>zwölfmonatigen Freiwilligendienst in Ghana</strong> mit „weltwärts“, dem vom Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung geförderten Programm für entwicklungspolitische Freiwilligendienste teilnehmen.
</div>
<div>Das bedeutet, dass ich in einem sozialen Projekt arbeiten werde, z.B. in einer Schule oder einem Kinderheim – wo genau, steht momentan noch nicht fest – und so die dortige Bevölkerung unterstütze.
</div>
<div>Meine Entsendeorganisation ist der <strong>ICJA</strong> (ursprünglich eine Abkürzung für „Internationaler christlicher Jugendaustausch“), ein gemeinnütziger Verein, der Freiwilligendienste in aller Welt organisiert.
</div>
<div>Er wurde nach dem 2. Weltkrieg von einem amerikanischen Pfarrer gegründet und hat zunächst einmal einen Schüleraustausch zwischen der BRD und den USA mit dem Ziel der Völkerverständigung und Versöhnung organisiert. Im Laufe der Zeit wurde jedoch der Entwicklungsgedanke immer wichtiger, weshalb der ICJA sich mittlerweile ganz der Freiwilligenarbeit widmet. So arbeitet der ICJA Deutschland heute mit Partnerorganisationen in über 45 Ländern zusammen und entsendet jährlich über 200 Freiwillige, nimmt aber auch Menschen aus anderen Ländern auf, die hier einen Freiwilligendienst leisten möchten.

<div>Wie bereits oben angesprochen, wird das <strong>weltwärts</strong>-Programm, das mit dem „Freiwilligen Sozialen Jahr“ vergleichbar ist, aber ausschließlich Entwicklungsländer betrifft, staatlich gefördert. Diese Förderung deckt jedoch nur einen Teil der anfallenden Kosten. Um trotzdem möglichst vielen Interessierten die Chance geben zu können, ein Jahr im Ausland zu helfen und selbst zu lernen, wurde das Prinzip des <strong>Förderkreises</strong> entwickelt.
</div>
<div>Das heißt, dass die angehenden Freiwilligen Menschen suchen, die ihr Engagement finanziell unterstützen – Ziel ist es nämlich, einen Betrag von insgesamt <strong>3900€</strong> bis zum <strong>15. Juni 2025</strong> aufzubringen.
</div>

<div>Aktuelle Hinweise zur Spendenbescheinigung:
</div>
<div>Für Spenden bis 300 € genügt als Nachweis gegenüber dem Finanzamt der Zahlungsbeleg. Bescheinigungen für Spenden über 300 Euro werden grundsätzlich im 1. Quartal des Folgejahres, also rechtzeitig für die Steuererklärung des Vorjahres in dem die Spende erfolgte, erstellt und vom ICJA unaufgefordert zugesandt. Spender*innen können jedoch nur dann eine Bescheinigung für ihre Spende erhalten, wenn uns ihre vollständigen Daten vorliegen. Dafür müssen sie im Betreff der Überweisung ihren vollständigen Namen und ihre Adresse angeben.

<div>I, Ricarda Victoria Sörens, will finally be taking part in a <strong>twelve-month voluntary service in Ghana</strong> from <strong>September 2025</strong> with ‘weltwärts’, the programme for development volunteer services funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
</div>
<div>This means that I will be working in a social project, e.g. in a school or a children's home - where exactly has not yet been decided - and supporting the local population.
</div>
<div>My host organisation is the <strong>ICJA</strong> (originally an abbreviation for ‘International Christian Youth Exchange’), a non-profit association that organises volunteer services all over the world. It was founded after the Second World War by an American pastor and initially organised student exchanges between the Federal Republic of Germany and the USA with the aim of international understanding and reconciliation. Over time, however, the idea of development became increasingly important, which is why the ICJA is now entirely dedicated to volunteer work. Today, ICJA Germany works with partner organisations in over 45 countries and sends over 200 volunteers every year, but also hosts people from other countries who would like to volunteer here.
</div>
<div>As mentioned above, the <strong>weltwärts</strong> programme, which only concerns developing countries, is funded by the state. However, this funding only covers part of the costs of this programme. In order to give as many interested people as possible the chance to spend a year abroad and learn for themselves, the principle of <strong>sponsorships</strong> was established.
</div>
<div>This means that the prospective volunteers are looking for people to support their commitment financially - the aim is to raise a total of <strong>€3900 </strong>by <strong>15 June 2025</strong>.
</div>
