#IceAgeRescue Funds for Jacquelyn

For friends who have followed Jacquelyn’s harrowing medical stay in Russia, you probably realize that she and her family have and will continue to incur expenses beyond what her health/travel insurance and university will end up covering. (We appreciate your discretion in not publicly sharing details about her ordeal beyond what's on this page.)

Jac's wonderful friend Karen James is also incurring expenses during her #IceAgeRescue trip to be with Jac and help her on the return home. If you’re able to help out, we’re collecting funds to help out. 

Below are some examples of the costs this fund will support, though the list certainly isn’t exhaustive. These circumstances are such that it’s hard to know what kind of expenses will suddenly pop up.  

The amount for this GoFundMe was set somewhat arbitrarily because of the difficulty of estimating total costs. Anything that exceeds the needs of Jac, her family (her dad and his wife are there with her as well) and Karen will become Jac’s to donate as she sees fit, whether that’s to use for those who have helped (like that AWESOME guy Guy who stayed with and advocated for her) or to donate to a charity of her choice.    

The funds will be used to pay for costs including, but not limited to, the following:

—cellular data roaming charges

—wifi at the hotel and other locations

—meals beyond the one-per-day covered by travel insurance

—copays and deductibles 

—incidentals such as hotel laundry service, taxi rides (where receipts aren’t always available), and even that cup of coffee or glass of wine that can make all the difference to getting through that day
