 Claudia has lived in North Carolina since she was just four years old. On May 28th, 2026, she was detained by ICE in Asheville, North Carolina, and transferred to the Stewart Detention Center in Lumpkin, Georgia. Today, she faces an uncertain future while fighting to remain in the U.S., the only home she has ever known.

 Fortunately, Claudia has secured experienced legal representation. However, the mounting legal expenses are overwhelming, especially while continuing to provide for her young U.S. citizen son.

 For 26 years, Claudia has built her life in the United States. She went to school, graduated, worked hard, and devoted herself to raising her son. Now, she faces the heartbreaking possibility of being permanently separated from the child who depends on her for love, guidance, and financial stability.

 Behind every immigration case is a human being. Claudia is not simply an "alien" number on a legal document. She is a mother, a daughter, a friend, and a valued member of her community. Every morning, her son wakes up knowing his mother is still not home. Every day she remains in detention is another day their family lives with fear, uncertainty, and heartbreak. Being detained at Stewart Detention Center has been very difficult. The daily human rights violations she has witnessed are unimaginable.
