Ibrahim - The unsung hero

In the early hours of Monday the 19th of June, a harrowing terror attack occurred in Finsbury Park, London. During this attack, we sadly lost one member of our community, and a further 10 were injured. As you are aware of the clear devastation that occurred, on what was supposed to be a peaceful night, during the holy month of Ramadan. This attack occurred in our neighborhood, where we call home. All those who live and come to the area will tell you that we are a diverse and tight knit community. One of the affected victims was our beloved family member; Ibrahim Benaouda, 23. He is the eldest of 5 siblings and his family is finding it difficult to come to terms with the events that unfolded.
His accounts of that night were as such; whilst walking home from prayer, he noticed a man suddenly collapse on the floor clinging to his chest. Due to his good nature, his first instinct was to run over to assist the man and attract further aid. Whilst consolidating the man that help was on the way, he hears sounds of a revving engine; seconds later he is run over by a man who committed a senseless act of violence. Our condolences go out to the family of the man who sadly lost his life.
Ibrahim has woken up in an intensive care unit, in excessive pain and sheer confusion.
His current injuries include:
· 3 broken ribs
· Fractures in 2 parts of his pelvis
· Bruising occurred to his; Kidney, Spleen and Liver.
He is due to undergo a major surgery in the near future to rectify the injuries to his pelvis. These injuries don’t include the immense physical pain he is going through. Not to mention the physiological trauma that he has suffered. It is still unclear of how well he will recover from this incident, and the affects this will have for his future.
Ibrahim Benaouda is the unsung hero that you didn’t hear about on the news. He’s not one to ask for help, but he deserves the support and recognition. Please show your solidarity by ensuring that Ibrahim and his family receive the necessary funding to guarantee the best outcome for his rehabilitation.

UPDATE: thank you all for your kindness and generosity!!! Our goal has been met. The withdrawal has been set up to his sister. All the money raised will go towards a smooth rehabilitation and everything he needs when he finally goes home. Again thank you!
