Help Ralphie battle cancer

Donation protected
Ralphie is a 6 year old English Bulldog from Melrose, MA. He has been a healthy boy up until this week. He had been a little picky with food recently and I noticed his glands were swollen Tuesday so I planned on bringing him to the vet Wednesday. Late Tuesday night he had trouble jumping on the bed so I brought him to an emergency vet that night. The doctor didn't like how his glands felt and suggested I schedule an appointment with my primary vet Wednesday morning.

I brought him to his primary vet on Wednesday and they ran all the tests. While we waited a day for the results Ralph became very lethargic all he wanted to do was sleep he was walking up stairs one at a time and moving extremely slow. The doctor called with the news Thursday afternoon. He tested positive for chronic leukemia and lymphoma. The vet informed me that my 2 choices were to bring him to an oncologist where he would receive chemotherapy and have a fighting chance or she could prescribe steroids which would just make him comfortable.

He was acting fine and actively playing on Monday and on Thursday this is the choice I had to make...I told her to refer me to the oncologist. They scheduled an appointment for him on Friday. The ride to the oncologist was tough Ralph was very lethargic just sleeping on me the whole way there. When we got there he pepped up as he always gets excited/nervous at the doctors.

The oncologist was very nice and informed me more about Ralph's condition let me know that his type of cancer was the most treatable in dogs just very expensive. He let me know there is a medical trial that is currently going on that Ralph could possibly qualify for but I would need to pay for a bunch of tests to submit him. So I did. Ralph got all the tests as well as his first round of chemotherapy Friday afternoon.

Immediately after leaving the doctors office Ralph was acting better later that night he was playing with toys again and acting more like himself rather then just sleeping as he had the past 2 days. Saturday was more of the same he's eating and drinking normal again, playing and all around acting more like himself. His glands feel like they are shrinking back down already as well.

The reason I'm writing this because even though I am not fond of asking for help after seeing how much the chemo helped him I don't know what else to do. I spent $2000 on him in 3 days and if he doesn't get into the trial it's going to cost another $5000 over the next 4 months to continue his chemotherapy. I will not be able to afford it but I am not ready to say goodbye to Ralph.

I am so grateful for any donation doesn't matter how small and if you can't donate please just share it! Thank you for taking the time to read this
