IBER CUP TOURNAMENT

My name is Diego Nieves and have loved the beautiful game of soccer since I was 3 years old. My family, coaches, and teachers have always told me to work my hardest at whatever task I’m given and that’s exactly what I continue to do in school, church, and on the pitch playing soccer.

This year I’ve been invited by NextGen USA to the prestigious IBER CUP tournament in Denmark where with your help I will get to play and train with some of the best academies in Europe such as Liverpool, Benfica, Juventus and others...

It’s been a tough journey accompanied by some injuries but a successful one so far. My parents always say that you have to go through the valley before you get to the top of the mountain “victory”.

Some of you helped me when I was selected to go train in Barcelona a few years ago and had an unforgettable training experience there (thank you for helping me). I learned how to be a smarter player by staying calm in certain situations, forcing opponents to make mistakes, anticipating a play before it happens, and becoming a more responsible player.

I also had the unforgettable experience of traveling to the cradle of soccer “Argentina” the home land of “Diego Maradona and Lionel Messi” last year. I played against Banfield, Los Argentinos, San Lorenzo and other outstanding teams.

I couldn’t do any of this without your support and my faith in God. Thank you for continuing to believe in me.
