Iben's fight against Cancer

Iben is a lovely 40 years old woman from a small town in Denmark, Haderslev.
A kind-hearted and generous soul, passionate about kids (she is a kids care-taker in the community), music, nature, arts, she embraced the fight against cancer in her 30s, when she discovered to have a breast cancer in 2013.

Since then, she has been resiliently fighting against a metastasis that affected in sequence her spine (resulting into an invasive and complicated surgery), then her brain and finally her lungs, causing sights and respiratory issues.

She has been through an excruciating cycle of radio and chemio treatments,  which knocked down her energy but did not prevent her inner strength, faith and passion from raising above the terrible collateral effects of these therapies.
Iben is a role model and inspiration for anybody dealing with cancer: she is not giving up and she is determined to fight this illness, supported by the love of her friends, family and community. She managed to channel her spiritual and emotional journey into an amazing artistic activity, turning the darkness of cancer into a beautiful production of watercolor artworks, full of love for life, dignity and resilience.

But reality is that, in order to beat cancer, Iben needs as soon as possible to go through a range of advanced toxicology, allergy, immunologic diagnosis tests as well as experimental new therapies that are available in alternative to chemio, which can help save her life and treat once for all the root causes of her immunologic disease, sparing her the unnecessary pain of the awful collateral chemio effects.

Public welfare healthcare in Denmark unfortunately does not refund in any ways these tests and treatments which need to be taken privately and often are available only abroad.

While these diagnosis and treatments are key to save the life to Iben and reduce the pain she is going through, they are extremely pricey and require ongoing therapy.
