You hope it will never be you. You pray it would never be your child. Then it hits and there's a new point on the timeline of life. Before it hit and after it hits. The Honcoop family have experienced that point when their son Ian complained of headaches, pain, and his eyesight. A trip to the pediatrician showed a 40 point drop in his vision which then sent him for a scan. The news was something no parent wants to hear and Ian was admitted to Children's Hospital. He had suffered multiple brain bleeds and had a cyst in his brain. This young man is tough! He had such strong faith, humor, and an amazing support network of friends and family. We all cheered him on and prayed. Soon he got to go home. But not for long... He had complications and was readmitted for an infection which was swelling so bad it shifted his brain's center line. So back to the hospital for another surgery.
Again, Ian is Tennessee Tough!! He recovered nicely and was sent home just before Christmas!
But not for long... He began having pain and difficulty breathing. Back to the hospital they go. This time it was a pulmonary embolism.
Through it all, Ian has been a fighter! His parents steadily at his side. His little brother trying to be as "normal" as he can with school, life, and missing his family.
He is still at the hospital and is receiving therapy for complications causing left side weakness.
The family is thankful for medical insurance but as we all know, it never covers enough. Insurance doesn't cover the cost of food for parents, gas for travel, and time missed from work.
I can personally say that I am beyond thankful to have the Honcoop family in my life! Help me lift them up in prayer and with donations.
