Ian Gilliam

Ian and his longtime girlfriend, Emily  were driving back to Oklahoma City on Monday from St. Louis in her Jeep Grand Cherokee . They were in St Louis to see her family before Christmas. They would have come back on Sunday, but the snow storm in the Midwest made driving impossible. Just outside of Springfield,  Missouri after driving in heavy snow and ice most of the morning they had a tire blow out. They stopped on the side of the Interstate and called AAA as they could not fix the damage . It took about 20 minutes before AAA arrived. In the mean time a state trooper stopped and offered assistance. When he heard they had called AAA he decided to move on. When AAA arrived they got their brief cases out of the  car and decided to bring them with them in the tow truck. As the AAA truck pulled the car up on the back bed , it caught fire and in a very short amount of time burned down to the frame. The Fire Dept arrived but it was too late. Everything they had in the car melted or was burned to a crisp.  Ian and Emily  lost everything he had taken with him. They also lost all of the Christmas gifts they had rec’d in St Louis. Ian saved his GCAA Computer and all of his GCAA  office items. Emily managed to save her computer and  more importantly her Doctoral Thesis which she is presenting this week at OU. She did not have a full back-up…
