Without a doubt, the highlight of the wedding was the ceremony officiated by Ian’s mom, Beth. Beth had battled cancer for 3 years and was in the midst of an intensive round of chemotherapy, but she not only attended her only son’s wedding, she stole the show. Nicknamed “Pixie” by those that knew her best, Beth brought love and humor to the stage. Ian and Emily were so proud to be there with her, and the moment meant everything.
After the festivities wrapped and the hangovers subsided, Ian and Emily left for their honeymoon on Monday the 5th. They transited through Paris, leaving themselves a couple of days to explore the city of light. Unfortunately, there was a shooting at Notre Dame and they were stuck in their hotel room for most of the time. From there they went to Athens, finally ready to start their honeymoon.
However, once in Athens, they got word that Beth’s condition had taken a turn for the worse, and that her treatment would be halted and she would be brought home for her final days. Ian and Emily heard the news and got back to Colorado as fast as possible, and were able to spend time with Beth before she passed. To the entire Marcheschi family, we are so sorry for your loss.
A vacation, even a honeymoon, can never compete with the most important parts of life, and Ian and Emily cut their vacation short to be where they wanted to be.
Now, we are raising money to get them the honeymoon they deserve. Ian is one of our brothers and at Harpo’s FC we stand with our brothers. Help us get two people we love the trip they’ve always dreamed of. Help Ian and Emily go on their Honeymoon!
Thank you so much for your support.
P.S. - Please keep this a secret from Ian and Emily. We want to be able to surprise them with whatever we're able to raise. Send to as many people as possible, but keep off Facebook, etc.
