iPads for Throat Cancer Patients

5 years ago my my Mum had major surgery for throat cancer, a year or so later she had a double mastectomy. She is now 84  years old and lives to tell the tale, literally. She is an inspiration to us all.

2 years ago my brother Martin was diagnosed with the same cancer and had similar surgery. (That's him with his brothers in the photo). A year later he had his voice box removed. The cancer came back. It is now back for the third time in it's most agressive form. He is currently fighting for his life, undergoing intensive radiotherapy. He knows that his chances are slim but like Mum he's not giving up. 

What he is giving is some of his precious energy to help, reassure and inspire other cancer sufferers. In particular, he has realised that it was very difficult for patients like him to communicate with the nursing staff. He started using his iPad with great success. Not a luxury that everyone has, particularly the children on the ward. Martin's goal is to aquire at least 6 for Earsham Ward at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital plus any other similar equipment that the staff feel would be useful.

My family have the backing and authority of the Hospital Trust.  

We are asking for any donation, however small, to enable Martin to achieve his goal. His courage is inspirational. His idea will enhance the quality of life for others in his position. He tells me that it's the little things that mean so much.
