iPads for Trout Lake School Science

I want a classroom set of iPads for my classroom.  Are you willing to help me fulfill my dream of acquiring a set of 20 iPads? Having taught science at the middle and high school level for twenty-five years has given me the opportunity to teach with just about every tool available.  I believe a clasroom set of iPads would provide an incredible opportunity for students to learn various science concepts in a manner previously unavailable to most teachers.  The iPads have such unique characteristics such as internal accelerometers, internal gyroscopes and touch screens allowing for the ability to manipulate objects in 3D in a manner previously not available to most educators.  I truly believe that my middle school science and high school biology classes would benefit greatly with this kinesthetic tool.

As the world develops a greater reliance on technology, the use of that technology is becoming far more integral in the classroom.  The ability to understand and use technology is vitally important for student success. Recently,  I purchased an Ipad for use in my classroom.  I quickly realized the incredible potential the Ipad has to facilitate learning.  Examples of the potential classroom use of iPads in science education include the ability to manipulate 3D images of the cells to relate structure to function and actually using the iPad as a real-time seismometer. The potential uses for for teaching and learning are only limited by imagination.
