Four years ago, in August, Michele Novak was diagnosed with liver disease. She was put on disability and state funding, since she could no longer work.
She was then put on the transplant list at Temple University, after many test and dr visits. This process became a part-time job for Michele. Once and sometimes twice a month to the drs down at Temple, and at least once a month to Doylestown hospital for blood work.
Two years into her being diagnose, she was then diagnose with kidney failure. Her liver could no longer take the pressure anymore and then pushed it onto her kidneys. Which have recently started to get worse and can't handle the pressure anymore.  Although she is not on dialysis yet. She has had dialysis here and there to help clear her kidneys out from certain test and procedures.
Back in early October, Michele started not to feel well. Her body started to bleed out. She was flown down to Temple where they had to perform a life risking surgery where they put a stent into her liver to help bypass some blood flow. Her liver has had enough and has started to give up.
Three weeks after recovering form the surgery she then was diagnose with type one diabetes. A side affect form the stent surgery. Another side affect is confusion, which is caused by toxins being built up in your body, which Michele started having. Michele could'nt remember what meds she took during the day or even if she had eaten. Her toxin levels became life threathening and so high that she was put into what looked like a coma.
Once again she was flown down to Temple, where she had to have half of the stent removed from her body cause it was too much for her body and liver to handle. After a week of lots of meds and some dialysis, Michele slowly woke up not knowing what day it was or where she was. She was in ICU for a week having a breathing issue, fluid in her lungs, and then developed a small heart issue. Everyday is touch and go. One day Michele is doing 100 percent better and then the next day she's hit with something that brings her down. Her body is slowly starting to shut down. It's just a matter of time and in God's hands.
Unfortunately someone must pass inorder for Michele to live and recieve her dual transplant.
In the meantime, Michele's five children have been trying to work together to keep her house up and running.  The bills are coming in not only for the house but for the hospital and her insurance hasn't kicked in, the state hasn't stepped in to help either. Her daughter works everyday with the advisor at the hospital to see what help is out there to take care of all the bills.
Her children don't care for gifts this christmas, all they are asking for is their mother to be healthy, get her transplant, and come home. Although once she's home that too will be a struggle, Michele is a fighter and will get through it all.
If you are reading this and you can pass this on to your friends and family and help Michele and her family get through this stressful time. Everyone keeps asking "how can I help?"
Here's how....... A donation to help with medical bills, percriptions, and some of her bills at home. This would make Michele's life alittle at ease knowing these small things can be taken care of and she can worry about getting better.

Thank you for your generosity,
Michele Novak and her children.
