Keeping Christmas Sacred

Donation protected
From Eric Hart, the inspiration behind this effort.

Most of you are aware of the highly publicized billboards going up around Memphis by the group American Atheists showing a small girl writing to Santa saying all she wanted for Christmas was to skip church because she’s too old for fairy tales.

While I love that God had the grace to give me life in a free country with freedom of speech that so many of my countrymen have bled for, there’s also such a thing as decency and respect.

I don't have a problem at all with one single person on earth because of their differing religious convictions and I certainly don't hate Atheists- I used to be one and I'd still be if it weren't for God reaching down and showing me Christ- but even then I was thankful that I was blessed with a Mom and Dad that taught me to have love, compassion, & respect for my fellow man & woman regardless of any prejudices the world may try to influence me with.

In my humble observations, it seems to me that these "influences" are rabidly causing division amongst all people groups in our country and trying hard to turn everyone against everyone else... and we're taking the bait.

I know that the billboards were designed to get a rise out of Christians in order to gain publicity and that's already happened, so it's my goal to make something positive of it.

I'm also very aware of the fact there will be no shortage of ridicule in this effort, but let's be clear on my message:

It's ok, indeed a GOOD thing, to exercise our freedoms in a dignified way. Many may not agree, but we need not be intimidated by those who would love to take away our freedoms or mock our beliefs.

In that same light, I'd like to ask our supporters to be respectful and not return hate for hate, ridicule for ridicule.

They are entitled to believe what they want but using children for their Godless message is pretty low.

Cherish our beloved CHRISTmas holiday with your loved ones and without any regret or second guessing. Even take the opportunity to explore the questions our Atheist friends propose and find the answers that will surely deepen your faith.

We’d like to exercise our freedom by putting up our own Outdoor board with our own Christmas message to be up from now until Christmas. It will be similar to their design, but our little girl will be writing a positive message. We’ll need $900 for one digital board and $1,800 for two. If we get more donations we may do a third board.

Anything raised beyond that will be donated 100% to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital here in Memphis. Anyone who knows me also knows that’s exactly what I’ll do. Our family had the misfortune of desperately needing their amazing services when we lost my 3 and a half year old niece Ava Grace there two and a half years ago. And Ava Grace will be the little girl on our Outdoor digital board. The photo for this fundraiser is the board we hope to put up in Memphis.

Below is a link to the billboard we hope to put up and a place to donate securely if you feel led to join us.

Please share this far and wide!

I'm praying life, blessings, and Christ for you no matter who you are- you're PRECIOUS in God's eyes!
