Cambodia Missions Trip

Hey!
For those who don't know me, my name is Aileen and I pretty much remind people of a soda can that's been shaken too much before being opened, crazy, loud and hyper. I'm pretty much like a kid, which also probably why I love teaching and being around kids!
I'm currently studying to become a secondary level history teacher, and have spent the last few years working and tutoring towards this goal. My heart for children and teaching have always come from the belief that Education is one of the huge keys to changing the world- especially in terms of poverty!
All throughout high school, with the school and my church, I went on missions trips to countries like the Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia. There we had the chance to be able to serve as a group in performances, songs, painting and building. During these trips, especially when I worked with kids, I would feel so overwhelmed by their eagerness and joy for learning anything from rudimentary music, English to simple Bible stories. These were definitely life changing experiences that I will never forget, however, I always felt like I wasn't fully utilizing my skillset. So, to have this opportunity to be able to go to Cambodia in January to volunteer and help the community of Battambang for three weeks, through teaching and equipping teachers is incredible!
Our team leaves Kuala Lumpur on the 12th of January 2015 to embark on this 3 week trip! I will have the privilege of working alongside a team of 17 (consisting of dentists, architects, accountants, graphic designers, speech pathologists, and an early childhood teacher) to work on several projects withLADO LOHI , Cambodia.
I personally am looking to fundraise for the following personal expenses:
Flights + Insurance: 300AUD
Accommodation, transport, food for three weeks: 440AUD
Each and every additional dollar goes straight to funding the resources we aim to bring over (e.g. literacy packs for the kids etc.)
It may sound quite cheesy, but honestly, each and every dollar counts! Big or small, any amount you give would be a dollar closer to my goal! Although I don't want you to feel pressured to have to give, it would mean the world to me to be able to raise money to be able to go on this trip, and also to be able to bless the people of Battambang! I hope that after reading this, you can get a picture of my passion and heart behind doing all of this :)
The closing date will be 1 week from now on the 10th December 2014!
