Tuskegee Airmen Memorial Statue

My grandfather, Tuskegee Airman LTC Howard Baugh (1[phone redacted]) from Petersburg, VA was a decorated fighter pilot who flew 135 combat missions during WWII. He fought for our country while battling the barriers of racial segregation and prejudice. When he was transferred back to the states, he taught other African Americans to fly and fight for our country. After retiring, he traveled across the country educating youth about his experiences and those of the brave men and women known as the "Tuskegee Airmen".
The Howard Baugh Chapter of Tuskegee Airman, Inc. (HBCTAI) in Petersburg, named after their native son, is soliciting donations to fund a project paying tribute to the Tuskegee Airmen. An 8' commemorative statue will be sculpted in the likeness of Howard Baugh and be placed in the Petersburg area where it will be the only tribute to the Tuskegee Airmen in the entire commonwealth. The site has been approved, the artist commissioned, and half of the necessary funds have been raised. However, fundraising has become painfully slow.
To meet our goal of erecting this statue by year end, we need your help! Please help HBCTAI honor my grandfather, a true "Hometown Hero" while paying a much deserved and long overdue tribute to the WWII Amercan heroes known as the "Tuskegee Airmen". Anything is appreciated!
Sincerely, Miranda Baugh and the HBCTAI
