The Gerry Merry Christmas Fund

    The Gerry Merry Christmas Fund is a Holiday fundraiser with one goal and one goal only; to spread as much love as possible to as many people as possible this Holiday season. Before his passing in March 2014, this is how Gerry M. Plescia lived each and every day of his life. A Freehold native, Gerry gave his love and friendship without hesitation to everyone he came in contact with, but those who know him know that he had a special soft spot for children and those less fortunate. While attending West Chester University, every time Gerry bought a fat juicy cheeseburger at “Buddy’s Burgers” he bought an extra one for the homeless fellow that lived outside on the street. With the spirit of Gerry as our heartbeat, we ask you to join us in allowing the light of Gerry’s life to shine hope on those who live in darkness.

      On Sunday December 21st 2014, Freehold’s nonprofit group Daily Determination will venture out onto the streets of Manhattan yet again to distribute winter jackets, warm socks, scarves, and friendship to those less fortunate who are a lot like me and you in many ways. After all, everyone everywhere just wants to be happy and free of pain and suffering. With this in mind and with Gerry in our hearts, we can help our fellow human beings in the same way he did. So help us, help you, help each other!

      A small contribution will make a BIG difference. All dollars donated will be used to buy winter jackets, warm socks, scarves, and other warm winter garments like hats and earmuffs. The remaining dollars will be spent at Toys "R" Us and will be donated to the Toys For Tots organization in Redbank, NJ so that our youth can feel the same holiday magic that Gerry felt growing up. We encourage anyone interested in joining us to come along for the trip to NYC!
