Pirate Pete

Many of us know Peter, his wife Diana and their family. Peter and Diana have 6 children, 5 young ones that still live at home.  Peter is an RN at St. Peter Hospital Emergency Department.  Peter was assaulted by a patient. Usually, Peter handles these types of patients pretty well but this one decided to guage his eye out which caused a hyphema, bleeding in the eye. Below is a quick version of events that followed that Peter put together. 
Quick version:
Assaulted at work which resulted in an eye injury that called for 5 days of reclined bed rest.
Day 4 woke with chest pain and was diagnosed with blood clots in both of my lungs. Started on blood thinners (coumadin)
Approx 1 week after starting coumadin I had a sudden onset of flank pain. After a CT followed by a MRI I was called back and told I needed an urgent urology consult because I had hemorrhagic cysts and significant edema to my kidney which is not good because I have to stay on the coumadin.
In the meantime, this has become very stressful on the entire family. Friends and relatives have prepared meals, helped pick up and drop off children at school and sports programs, donated hours at work. This has all been extremely helpful. With the holidays upon us, things have become even more stressful. Some have wanted to help but because of distance or other obligations are unable and have asked how can I help financially?  We decided to open that option since bills are still coming in, food is still needed, and tuitions for the childrens school still need to be paid. Peter had signed up for lots of incentive hours to help with the holidays but that will not be considered in the averages of pay loss.  
We appreciate any help from family and friends right now...whether it be a prayer, a dinner, transportation for the kids, a gift card to the grocery store, or a monetary donation to help with other things. Thank you to each and every one of you who have dedicated anything to this wonderful family.
