You may have seen me in the news about my Free Lawn Mowing Program for Seniors 65+ and Veterans (in Northern New Jersey). A socially distant service I decided to launch on a whim soon after I got laid off from a digital advertising firm -- during the peak of the pandemic. It's been a stressful year in the news -- between the pandemic and all that has transpired, having a first newborn and trying to figure out life to provide for my family. I didn't want to sit and mope around while submitting my resume alongside millions of others out of work. Decided to take matters into my own hands and get out and do something good. Got tired of all the bad news. It only made sense to use the tools I had available combined with my love for grandparents. What was meant for local neighbors thru a quick press release announcement-- turned into a national and international story!
Here's raw, unedited video footage of my story behind IWantToMowYourLawn!
I always wanted to inspire others but never thought I could at this magnitude. To date, myself and couple active volunteers - we've tackled over 25 unique lawns for clients (not including repeat visits) all around Northern NJ. Even got one volunteer helping out a senior in Illinois.
We don't accept tips. It's a feeling you can't explain. In an effort to scale up that feeling and help reach others outside of our tiny footprint, decided to raise money here on GoFundMe. It's a one-time, non-recurring & no obligation contribution. Every little bit helps! Funds raised will help convert this idea into an actual 501c3 non-profit organization with hopes to attract more volunteers, donors, partners, sponsors, officers and advisors -- with perpetual existence in mind.
Not only will the money raised here help with completion and filing of articles of incorporation but cover post-incorporation requirements such as annual report fees, statement of officer’s fees and/or corporate taxes. Any extra will be reinvested back into the business (i.e. advertising).
Thanks for believing! Stay Safe Out There!
