I Think I wanna Marry You

A few close friends and family of mine are getting married next year and have asked me to do the honour of marrying them. In Australia, to do this you need to be an ordained minister or obtain a Cert IV in Celebrancy. I’d love nothing more than to marry these couples, and be a celebrant in the wake of Marriage Equality, but I’m also super broke after some time away. The cheapest training I can find is $1895, and the government takes an extra $840 for application and registration.

I’m not planning on becoming a celebrant for profit but I’d love to be able to make this happen for a couple of couples I really care about, and if I can break-even that’s a bonus.

I can’t think of any greater joy than sharing the happiest day of someone’s life with them. If you can give, please do. Maybe I’ll marry you one day too.
