ADRENALINE DEALER Facebook and Instagram but here is a little resume of the last 3 weeks of what I can say has been some of the most challenging moments in my life, me going to war when I was a soldier was a piece of cake compare to what has been going on for 3 week and still on going and will be for the next 3 months.

I had an incident while I was training in Holland on the 11th of June. Since I had a very bad back for more than 20 years, I didn’t think my pain was worst than before so I nurtured my back as I usually do when I have a crisis with my back.

The following day I was due to go to Kazakhstan for a couple competition So we did and I carry on nurturing my back pain until 3 days later I was losing feeling in my leg.

I then went to see a doctor and the diagnosis was that had to be admitted for an emergency lumbar and spinal cord fusion to safe my legs.

3 days it took for my insurance to tell me that I needed the surgery in Kazakhstan! You can imagine all of my fears!!! Language, different culture, methods of surgery etc.

I kiss my wife Maricel tell her I love her so much and apologize for my action and told her it was going to be ok but inside I had different feelings that I am sure you can imagine.

so down the hall I go and put my life into Dr Almas.

I came out with happiness to still be alive and my moral simply went into overdrive of motivation. But my insurance said they would not cover the cost of my operation or my repatriation…( estimated lost 5000$)

I didn’t want to ender my recovery as I know that 75% of recovery is in the head so I just told my wife let’s pay it with the MasterCard, it is only money and we can make more later ( but I just lost my tandem season which would of bring us 15 000€ That we will not have this year…)

Rehabilitation time it was so on the 3rd I was sitting, 4th day walking with walker, 5 days walk 5 km without assistance and so on, I was the happiest and most motivated person in the world.

All was fine got out of Hospital after 14 days total and on my second out I get woke. Up by this video message…

YES this is our home in Austria where we train during the summer before, during and after the competition season from May to October.

our Mercedes Vito camper van is ruined as the engine was totally under water for more than 3 hours (estimated lost 5000$).

Our camper trailer was floating in the water for over 5 hours and the new floor I just build 4 weeks ago has been in the water since then ( estimated lost 4000$).

As this is the place we spend the most time a year, you can also imagine all the equipments we have it the camping trailer, 5 wings, 7 harnesses, drone, second laptop, radios hard drive tools etc… ( estimated value 20 000$) Don’t know the state of the equipments yet.

As I am a positive kind of person and not easily thrown off his game, I motivated myself by comforting other and myself by acknowledging that everyone was safe and all that was lost is material that can be replace which I’m really is simply that, all pilot, partners, kids, babies and campers are all safe so life goes on so let’s live it as we can’t fight it…

So now our plan has change from going back to Canada to carry on my rehabilitation for the next 3 months as we need to do a detour to Austria to asses the damage hire people to clean up as I can’t lift more than 2kgs for 3 months.

So now in a Taxi ride to Almaty Airport in Kazakhstan and I get a text message from my bank… my credit card is full!!!

That in itself is not an issue as I have about 6 credit cards but it made me realize how much debt we have and combine with the lost in Austria plus the up coming medical bills in Canada as I am not eligible to free medical as I have not live in Canada for a period of 3 months in the past 3 years due to Covid means that I might be over my head in debts in a few days/weeks/ months as I still have no transport from Holland to Austria and to Canada after then and medical bills…

The peoples who really know me, knows that it took me all my courage to put my pride aside to do this. Some of you have ask to do this for me but I think it is only right that I take these steps and ask for your help.

if you cannot help with funds, equipments or transport, I will take your moral support as it is just as important!!!

si vous me suivre sur les réseaux sociaux vous savez se qui se passe avez moi mais pour les autres voici mes 3 dernière semaine en résumé.

je me suis casser la vertèbre L3 alors ‘j’ai du avoir une chirurgie d’urgence mais Au Kazakhstan.

mes 2 assurance medical me confirme, après, l’opération qu’il ne couvre aucun frais et que je suis laisser seul à moi même.

Ok je me dit et dit à ma femme Maricel pas de problem c’est juste de l’argent alors ont met sa sur la Mastercard.

je sort de l’hôpital et je me fait réveiller pas un message de l’Autriche avec cette photo

Notre base D’entraînement en Autriche est détruite!!! Notre van campeur détruite.

et j’ai pour 20 000$ d’équipement parapente et électronique à l’intérieur.

Mais tous sont saint et sauve et juste des dommage matériel mais vue que je ne suis pas résident de l’Europe je ne peut pas avoir d’assurance.

Je garde le moral et tout va bien jusqu’à se que je reçois un message de MasterCard que ma carte est pleine et la sa frappe de plein fouet!!!

Avec les frais d’hôpital, équipement perdu que je dois remplacer et mes frais de réhabilitation au Québec que je vais devoir payer de ma poche car je n’ai pas le droit au service médical gratuit car je ne vie plus au Canada depuis 3 ans due au COVID, et bien je vais me retrouver dans les debts par dessus la tête…

alors je prend mon courage à 2 mains pour mètre mon ego de coter de demander votre aide avec cette lever de fonds…

5000$ frais de remplacement de notre camper qui est impératif a la continuation de mes compétitions en Europe pour garder les frais au minimum.
