<li>I am currently in a group home [housing insecure, constantly under threat of being kicked out at a rando's whim] in the most dangerous city in the US for gun violence. Being homeless I am <strong>10x more likely</strong> to experience violence (that means <em>being robbed</em> <em>at gunpoint</em> which has already happened to me here before).

<li>I made less than $600 last <strong>year</strong>. In total. All year. I make ~$4/hr doing ridiculous gig work.

<div><em>Please help me</em>. A decade is too long, and there is no end in sight. I can no longer continue to live unhoused. My career plan is described on <a href="https://www.patreon.com/Studio56" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">my patreon</a> if you wish to donate that way it also helps tremendously, but also hinges on me having a place to live.

<div>I <strong>want to work</strong>, I <strong>need</strong> a <strong>home</strong> to work <strong><em>from</em></strong>. I want to contribute to society as an artist, filmmaker, programmer, and writer, I need society to contribute a home to me <em>first</em> so I can live in a home like a normal person, and not on the sidewalk, not in my vehicle, not under a bridge, not in an abandoned building, not in an office, not where its -15 degrees outside and i live outside, and especially not <em>someone else's</em> house where i'm constantly under threat of being kicked out. I need <strong>access</strong> to <strong>permanent stable housing</strong>. I went to my family for help, I gave them every opportunity to do the right thing, and they threw the fact that I '<em>am homeless</em>' in my face.

<div>The only thing that is going to help in this situation is having a home. I know what work is, I've been to work before, I plan on returning to work, however, <strong>no amount of work</strong>, performed <em>by me</em>, <em>in this situation</em>, is going to solve the problem of <em>homelessness</em>, <em>for me</em>. I need <strong>access</strong> to <strong>permanent stable housing</strong>.

<div>I can't <em>live </em>this way. I haven't been <em>alive</em> the past <em>decade</em>. I have no home. Living on the streets, I've learned to stop saying, "Well at least it can't get any worse" because it always has. Now I've been kicked out of the <em>park</em>. This is a traumatic experience that I would not wish on my worst enemy, and I need this chapter of my life to come to a close, for me to move on and heal and be able to do something with my life.

<div>I know that the expectation is for everyone to make every single cent all on their own starting with nothing and with no help, I am sorry, I seem unable to perform under those conditions, having tried it.

<div><strong>How we got here:</strong>

<div>There are a number of factors, my mom left when I was born, causing my dad to sell our home. So I have never had a home to go back to. We've always been poor, but this is something different.

<div>Ten years ago.<strong> 2nd year college student. Laptop upgrade.</strong> So one month, <em>while I was in school and working 35 hrs/week</em>, I was faced with a choice, I had to decide between paying rent, or upgrading my laptop. I went with the laptop, and I have <strong>NEVER</strong> been able to recover from that decision because there is no safety net.

<div><em>Maybe</em> I should have asked for help <em>then. </em>The truth is, I don't really want to be asking for help at all. I <em>tried</em> everything you're <em>supposed to do</em> on your own to avoid this. I <em>tried</em> figuring this out on my own without asking. I'm sorry &amp; it is embarrassing sharing these details, I would've liked to remain anonymous but I am choosing identity over anonymity. I am this person, this is happening to me, I'm the one that needs help in this moment.

<div>I know this is a big ask, but I have never asked, myself, for me, for what I actually need to get through this. I have always been afraid to. Its really not a lot for what I've been through. I'm not even asking for help to get out of poverty, only <em>extreme poverty</em>.
