I Need a New Transmission Because of an Accident
Donation protected
I hit a huge pothole in late December 2020 that damage the transmission in my 2011 Jeep Patriot. I have State Farm insurance and was told when I first called 7 weeks ago that repairing the transmission would be covered because it was damaged in an accident. 2 weeks later, I was told, and am still being told, that because all of the damage is only internal, without any outside dents, that my policy will not cover it even after the transmission was dissected by a transmission specialist, because he cannot say 100% that the damage was caused by the accident. State Farms’ claim team has made it’s mind up without even seeing any pictures. In addition, they have refused to tell us if the person who has made the decision is a transmission specialist or not and either way, they will not honor the claim.
Now I have to raise $1,500.00 to get my damaged vehicle repaired. It’s the only vehicle I have and I need it to be able to work my job and make a living. State Farm quit paying for my rental car after 6 weeks so I’ve been using the rest of my savings to be able to pay for the rental car.
Please understand that I’m retired and in order for me to subsidize my small retirement income, I cannot be without a vehicle because I am a food delivery driver for a restaurant.
Without this job I would wind up being evicted from my home so I humbly ask you to please help me raise the $1,500.00 to cover the replacement transmission and labor costs. I am putting aside what I can to help pay for it but with the car rental costing me $175.00 per week along with paying other bills and buying groceries I cannot put away very much every week.
My mechanic wants either to order the transmission Moday, February 15, 2021 or i have to have it towed off of his lot until I have the money for the transmission which would be another set back in my saving for it.
Thank you sincerely in advance for your help.
