Impel Theatre are producing an exciting play at Toronto Fringe, by award-winning English playwright, Tim Crouch, called I, Malvolio. This will be a new, site-specific production with immersive and interactive elements.
We believe in paying artists...but Fringe producing can be fickle. We're looking for support to help ensure that the artists on the project get a minimum pay-out for their efforts, that doesn't come out of Kendra's savings account. With loads of friends and family eager to support, but in a different city so unable to support through ticket sales, this is a way to show us your love, and help the artists on the project get paid! Furthermore, if we can meet our ticket sales goals + reach our GoFundMe target, the lead artists will be paid minimum wage for all rehearsal and performance time - no small accomplishment for indie theatre!
The team are:
Kendra Jones - Director & Producer
Justin Otto - Performer
Emma Miziolek - Stage Manager
Calvin Petersen - Assistant Director & Clown Consultant
And what do you get in return? A few things.
First: The performance has an online, interactive component, which means you can experience pieces of the performance from July 1 through to July 13th by following @impeltheatre on SnapChat, even if you can't make it to a live performance!
Second: If you are in Toronto for Fringe (July 3-13), a donation of $20 or more will get you 1 complimentary show ticket for the performance of your choice.
Third: Financial success in Toronto positions us better to bring the show back home (to Winnipeg audiences) in the winter, which we're working to do! So if you're in the 'Peg, donate to help us make sure you can experience the show, too! And for donations of $20 or more, we'll keep your names handy to make sure you get a special ticket offer, too!
