I am the new Jane

On Friday, June 24, 2022, access to comprehensive reproductive healthcare changed dramatically in the United States. The decision to overturn Roe vs Wade has and will have rippling effects on reproductive rights for the entire nation. In addition to restricted access to necessary medical care and counseling for patients, this decision will also have an extremely detrimental effect on medical education. Thousands of residents and medical trainees will now be unable to receive essential training in evidence-based medicine and best practices for conditions such as miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, and unintended or undesired pregnancy. Evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of these conditions is not only life-saving but life-changing.

 

We seek to provide funding for medical trainees to travel to states where this education is still available and participate in visiting rotations. With your help, this will allow individuals to afford travel, accommodations, transportation, and other necessary expenditures as they obtain the necessary training to provide comprehensive and high-quality healthcare to all people.
