The events that have unfolded nationally over the last several weeks have been a sobering reminder as to how racial injustice and lack of cultural understanding has left a giant hole in the heart of our communities. As an owner of a business in the Houston Heights, now is the time to stand up together and voice our support of unity as an ally to the black community because, Black Lives Matter.
I have partnered with Iconic Houston MuralistAmy Malkan to put together a timeless reminder of unity and hope. Our initial goal is $5,000 to support the cost of this mural with 20% of funds raised being donated to The Citywide Clubs of Houston- a non profit that puts together the large Superfeasts, but also provides immense support to the underserved black communities in Houston. Should we raise
more than $5,000 we will plan additional mural projects through the city with the continued promise of 20% of the funds going to CitywideClubs.
Get Involved, be an Ally! We hope to have this project fully funded by Monday, 6/15 to begin the mural 6/22.
As a bonus, give a donation of at least $500 and we will add you to the supporters list that will be painted in appreciation on the mural.
Give $1000, and you will be able to spend time with the muralist and have a “hands on experience” painting with her as well have your name or company name painted with the list of supporters on the mural.
