Howdy!
My name is Evan Flores, an undergrad at Texas A&M University, and I am travelling to Qingdao, China to better my Chinese and learn more about the culture so that I can better utilize these skills in a career!
I have studied Chinese for approximately two years at Texas A&M and I have found that I love the Chinese Language and Culture. It has been amazing to learn an entirely different language, but also experience an entirely different culture through teachers and mentors at my school, and I am prepared to now go and see how it is to live in China for 2.5 months with A&M. At Ocean University of China , I will study in a fast paced environment, gaining college credit and learning Chinese to bring back to Texas. Qingdao is a gorgeous seaside city, with rich history, and I hope to enjoy these things as I pursue academics primarily.
Ultimately, I hope to further use these skills in a career in the future; as I seek to serve our country in one of the three letter agencies (FBI, etc.). The experiences and assets I gain here will help me attain future goals that I prepare for now and to do this, I need your help.
I humbly ask that you would consider helping my venture financially, and that you would also keep me in your thoughts and prayers as I take on the challenge of:
1.) Getting the funding to actually go on the trip
2.) Experiencing this new country and culture
The deadline for the funding is April 30!
