Hello all Friends, Family, Loved ones!
Most, if not all of you know that my son Liam is diagnosed with Autism. To many, it's a new territory. Some of you who have really helped us along this uncharted territory know all to well the challenges Liam faces.
He looks fine, and he looks healthy. Yes, you are right, but there are so many, many things unseen or heard that he struggles with daily, and it is so isolating for him and for us as his parents.
There is no cure, it is simply him, and how he is made up. So we navigate through the obstacles. We push when we need to and pull back when it's necessary. There are so many uncertainties to come since he is still 5, soon to be 6 this year, but we know with everyones help and support we can make it through.
Eli and I feel awkward asking for help, because we are do-it-yourselfer's. So here goes.....deep breath.....and release......
If you feel so inclined to contribute any dollar amount toward getting Liam a service dog we would be so so very grateful.
We are going through a local company, Doggie Do Good, located in Arroyo Grande, CA. With their help we can match Liam with a furry companion to help with comfort and reassurance, emotional support, boundary alerts, deep pressure therapy, and possible seizure assistance if we raise enough funds.

We are hoping that we can raise enough funds by summer so that we can start the process. This will allow Liam to start bonding with the right dog during summer, and the proper training can go into him/her by the trainers at the facility. Because there are special needs, the dog won't be placed in our home until he/she is fully trained and I am also trained, which will take 6-18 months.
