RIP Armando Verdugo
July 2nd 1987 - January 4th 2018

There is some who knew and some who didn't but this is his story..

My brother Mondo was only an infant brought into this world with an unfortunate fate. Which my family didn't know anything  about yet. He was born with a devastating disease.  A disease with no cure!

My mother was battling sickle cell all her life. So if you know about this disease you know it can be very painful when in a sickle cell crisis and may require blood transfusions. Well it was this last blood transfusion which turned our lives upside down.. while pregnant with my brother Armando she received a blood transfusion that would change thier lives  forever. My family soon found out that she was HIV positive! This hospital gave my mom HIV! So yes my brother was born HIV positive! To make matters worse they tried to blame the family because they all donated blood but it wasn't a match. To only find out when they were all tested everyone's test came back negative.

I was fortunate that by the time she had me they were able to give her medications so it will not be passed on to me. But it's still not right that my brother had it! It still doesn't make up for what happened to him!

Mondo was in and out of hospitals all his life. He didn't have the opportunity to be a normal kid because he was always sick. I remember in middle school he was in the hospital for almost a whole year to the point where he had to be home schooled. He was on so many medications. At one point he blew up like a balloon because of all the steroids giving to him.  It's hard being a  kid dealing with this having to always take medication. What kid wants to take medicine all the time. Then as he got older he started having even more complications. It was always something.

These last few years  was the hardest for my brother. But he was soo strong. His liver started giving him a lot of problems. He was at the hospital every week and I mean every week getting a big needle stuck in  his belly to drain all the fluid (paracentesis). And he was always in pain. And this is just one of the many complications he was living with. My brother was tired and the Lord called him home. But through out his life he always kept smiling, laughing, being silly and playing video games. Anybody that knows my brother knows he was a gamer had every game system you can think of  and he was the best lol.

My mom passed away when we were only 10 and 11. We never knew our father he left when we were babies and never came back.  From then our grandmother and aunt raised us until my grandmother passed away in  2009. So it's been an emotional rollercoaster for us growing up.

So my family and I our asking from the bottom of our hearts for any kind of donation that would help with funeral cost and laying my brother to rest. He deserves a proper homegoing and we would love to give him that. He had life insurance but when things started getting really bad financially we couldnt afford it any longer. Thank you in advance we really appreciate anything you can give and please share!
