My name is Jessica Clutterbuck and I am writing this letter as an appeal for financial help to receive life saving Chronic Lyme Disease treatment at Sponaugle Wellness Clinic in Tampa
I find asking for help a very difficult thing to do but treatment is not available in Canada, as this disease is not recognized by the Canadian System, so it would be necessary for me to fly to Tampa for expert treatment and care. This of course is a costly endeavour, and after 10 years of suffering with such a debilitating illness, it is my last hope. I am 25 years old, I have not been able to work for the past number of years, and I have drained all sources of finance available. I have insufficient funds left to enable me to travel.
I first became seriously ill over 10 years ago and was diagnosed as having Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Costrochodritis and then Fibromyalgia. However, these were all misdiagnoses. It seemed like a guessing game for the doctors. After my blood samples were sent to the IGENEX Lab in California for testing, I was diagnosed with Lyme disease summer of 2014. Over the 10 years I have tried many treatments but nothing has alleviated the chronic pain which I suffer throughout my entire body, 24/7. I have spent many months in bed and have undergone many painful tests and treatments (for illness' that I didn't have).
My world has shrunk from a happy, active and hard working life, to one of being closeted inside and rarely going out as the pain is too overwhelming. I suffer with over 50 horrific symptoms - every single day. My body has had enough and I will do anything to get the expert treatment and care that is available at Sponaugle. I dream of being able to walk properly, talk, read, write, dance, laugh, play sports and earn an income again. In other words, I dream of resuming my life of 10 years ago.
I have been fortunate enough to secure a place in a Lyme disease treatment program being conducted at Sponaugle Wellness Clinic
The treatment is anywhere from 2-6 months and $5,000 (Canadian dollars) per WEEK, will pay for all treatment, hospital, allied health services, tests and a range of medical procedures, medications and further care that I will undergo back in Canada.
If anyone is able to assist in any small way I would be very grateful.
I would like to survive this horrific illness so that one day I will be strong enough to help raise awareness of Lyme disease, so that other people do not have to experience what I have been through. I would also like to ensure there is proper diagnosis, treatment and care for people suffering from this dreadful disease.
I have lost everything, my childhood, my education, my friends, career dreams, and freedom. My body has stopped working and I do not have the ability to lead a normal life. It has been very hard to remain positive, but I have never given up hope that one day my pain and suffering will stop, and that one day I will live the life that I have always dreamed of. Please help me get to Tampa for treatment so that my life can begin.
