Hello everyone today I’m fundraising for someone who doesn’t have a voice of her own to speak up & ask for help. Her name is Hylia & she’s my best friend. During this pandemic & quarantine mandates I had re-entered, but was able to free myself from a 7 year abusive cycle where I was completely debilitated most days. I found it hard to even see the point in getting up & getting ready just to live. I didn’t want to live. Not having to hide that pain from anyone anymore started a huge turn for me. And a huge part of my recovery process has been starting therapy & getting & caring for Hylia. She has given me a purpose to get up & go out in the morning & tackle my day like no other & I don’t know what I would do without her. I don’t. Unfortunately, yesterday on a walk she slipped from my grasp & started running towards the house but instead ran the other direction & I lost sight of her. I looked for her all day along with the help of Facebook & neighbors only to find her myself, after dark, under a car close to home. I pulled her out to realize her foot was swollen & she was crying. I immediately took her to a 24 hour vet where they sedated her, but wanted 900 dollars on the spot for xrays & bandages, on top of the 170 just to be seen, which I couldn’t do right away, so unfortunately I had to take her back for the night with only some pain meds to keep her calm. This morning, I went to her primary vet for the xrays & bandages. Once she got those done it was clear that her front right paw had been run over & squished by a vehicle, & I am just devestated. How can a person hit & run on a dog? She’s not a small puppy, and I didn’t know this happened often, but the vet reassured me that people will hit animals & just not call the owner even though they have tags/micochips to avoid medical bills?? Messed up. So unfortunately now in a pandemic where my hours are reduced, I’m asking for a tiny bit of everyone’s help just so I can get this girl back on her feet quicker. This money will all go to Hylia, her xrays & bandages have already been paid for by me but the cost of surgery & everything else is adding up quickly. Maybe just a tiny bit from everyone can add up into something substantial I can use for her to get her back to health
