DON BUSWEILER-WAITING ON A KIDNEY

My Dear Friends and Family - This is not an easy story to tell, and I will be as brief as possible. I am 69 years old, in Stage 4 Renal Failure. and generally in poor health due to my illness. The good Lord has granted me the blessing of being accepted for a kidney transplant, with Cleveland Clinic in Weston, Fl and I am approved for the surgery. I consider myself -Very lucky for that! HOWEVER, because of my ill health, I am no longer able to work as a cab driver, in which I had served the great City of Hollywood for 42 years. I have Never been out of work before, and thus have never had any financial worries. However, I now find myself near destitute due to having to give up the only job I loved and looked forward to each and everyday. I am merely existing on my Social Security which does not even cover my rent, let alone my utilities. I was granted food stamps, for which I am so grateful, but even that only goes so far. Of course, to get to this stage of my life and have a life-threatening illness was not how I had intended to live out my Golden years. But these are the cards that I've been dealt, and I must do what I can to keep a roof over my head, and the electric and water on. As, I mentioned my Social Security does not cover even my rent, and I am now 4 months behind!

Of course this is hard to ask of anyone, as I have Always been the provider, and never had to ask anyone for any help such as this before.  And if you can , I thank each and everyone one of you who is able to reach deep in their pockets to help me out. I'm not sure if I will ever be able to express my Thanks and gratitude, as much as I feel as I am deeply humbled by these circumstances. Simply stated, I need any and all help I can get, as soon as possible, and as I anticipate not being able to work for a very long time, if at all after my surgery, I am humbly asking for assistance. The thought of NOT having to fret and worry about these expenses, I feel will also help me physically, as this has put soooo much strain and anxiety in my day to day living. Thanks to you all, I would be able to stay on in my apartment, have my surgery and be able to return home again for my recouperation.
