Boosting Hygiene Standards in Timor-Leste
Clean water and proper sanitation facilities are fundamentals that every child should have growing up.
These ensure a healthy living environment whereby they can grow up without the dangers of infections or illnesses attributed to poor sanitation.
Timor-Leste, a small developing country in Southeast Asia, faces many challenges in clean sanitation facilities.
Manleauna Primary School in Dili, Timor-Leste’s capital city, has over 2,000 students - and no functioning toilet!
Together with Unilever, we want to create a better living environment for these children. We are building hygienic toilets and handwashing facilities to safeguard the well-being of the students at Manleuana Primary School.
We will work together with local builders on this pioneering project; it will be the start of something bigger. We need the capital to build the facility, and are looking at rolling out similar hygienic toilets across more schools in Timor-Leste.
