Dear Friends from all over the world. My name is Vanessa and I am in charge of the
[email redacted]e.te.necesita_vzla which belongs to the Area of Hydrocephaly of
Fundation Pequeñitos (translated as Little Ones). This is a non-profit foundation that
helps children with hydrocephaly (or hydrocephalus), who are fighting for their lives in
hospitals outside the Metropolitan Area of Caracas. We also help babies and
toddlers providing contribution for medical check-ups, tests, medication and surgery.
We are asking for your kindness and your good heart to contribute
with our Venezuelan children suffering from hydrocephaly! Your
contribution big or small is invaluable!!
These babies need with urgency the purchase of, hydrocephalus shunt systems that
work decreasing considerably their intracranial pressure due to the excess
cerebrospinal fluid. These shunts have been used successfully and have become
the primary therapy for hydrocephalus treatment.
You probably already know, that currently, Venezuela is facing a severe health, food
and economical emergency. The cost of a hydrocephalus shunt device beats the
national minimum wage x 80, which is why their parents’ can´t afford their acquisition
immediately, nor at long term, leaving their situation hopeless. Without the stunts,
these children have to be hospitalised for many months, so that they can get a short-
term external drainage system attached; but this drainage, is very susceptible of
getting infected, leaving the children fighting for their lives and their families
expecting a miracle.
The hydrocephalic shunts are a little more affordable in other countries. And as
sooner they get their own shunt system, it’s possible to diminish the risk of
irreversible and fatal neurological damages.
This campaign initiated as a collaboration of some friends, who felt moved by 6
babies. We succeed changing the course of their stories through giving them the
hydrocephalus shunt (acquired in another country), medical supplies and the
medication that they needed.

Amigos en el mundo!! mi Nombre es Vanessa, y estoy encargada de la campaña de @un.bebe.te.necesita_vzla (Fundación Pequeñitos - Área Hidrocefalia); una fundación sin fines de lucro que ayuda a los niños con hidrocefalia que se encuentran luchando por sus vidas en los hospitales fuera de la Zona Metropolitana de Caracas.
Acudimos a ustedes, y a su buen corazón, para solicitar su valioso aporte para nuestros niños venezolanos que padecen de Hidrocefalia! Estos bebes requieren con urgencia la adquisición de válvulas de derivación para poder disminuir la presión que existe en sus cabecitas, debido al exceso de líquido cefalorraquídeo. Ellos necesitan nuestro apoyo, ya que en Venezuela se esta viviendo una profunda emergencia hospitalaria, alimentaria y económica. El costo de una válvula en Venezuela supera los 80 salarios netos y en virtud de ello, los padres de estos bebés no cuentan con los recursos para adquirirla de manera inmediata y son más fáciles de adquirir en otro país; por lo tanto, sus hijos pasan meses hospitalizados con drenaje de derivación externa, luchando por sus vidas y a la espera del milagro. Mientras más pronto reciban su válvula, disminuyen los riesgos de daños neurológicos graves e irreversibles. Anímate y forma parte de esta gran iniciativa para adquirir las válvulas en el exterior. Este último año nos hemos dedicado a adquirir válvulas de derivación para niños de bajos recursos, pagos de exámenes y medicinas en varios Hospitales de Venezuela.
Esta Campaña inició con la colaboración de amigos, quienes se sensibilizaron con 6 niños cuyas historias logramos cambiar con la entrega de una válvula para cada quien, insumos médicos y medicinas que requerían con urgencia.
Ya hemos entregado más de 100 válvulas, medicinas y otros insumos, los cuales pueden constatar en la cuenta mencionada de Instagram (@un.bebe.te.necesita_Vzla).
En sus manos está la oportunidad de salvar muchas vidas. Sea parte del cambio!.
