Dan Kane is a loving father, friend, husband, and co-worker. He is always willing to give the shirt off his back for anyone, in any way possible.
Now it's time for us to help him out! Our dad has had issues walking for the last 12+ years, he's gone to specialist after specialist, and even to the Mayo Clinic to find out what is wrong with his walking and balance. They've ruled out MS, and other illnesses that could possibly be the problem. At this point, it's all about him improving his quality of life by being able to walk again, and not be in pain.
A little over a month ago, he started going to Physical Therapy and his therapist introduced him to this product called Bioness (I call them robot legs). It's a mechanical "brace" that goes on his legs that sends signals into his nervous system that tell his legs to lift so he can walk. I've honestly never seen my dad so happy and excited than the first time he told me about them. He said "Oh my gosh, did I tell you I was walking normal on a treadmill today?". It was amazing seeing the excitement in his eyes.
We've decided as a family that he cannot pass this up, we want him walking, happy, and able to do things with us for a LONGGG time. Unfortunately, his insurance is not going to cover any of the $20k cost. So, here is where you guys come in, help my dad be able to walk again, and do things with his friends, wife, daughters, sons, and future grandkids.
