Alexxa's journey to Ayurveda

Hello! I'm Alexxa Latta, and I want to help save the people of this country and this world through Ayurveda. Ayurveda was my first introduction to holistic health and it changed my life forever. By the time I was 21, I had been on every single kind of anti-depressant, ADD medication, anti-anxiety medication, prescription migraine medication... and nothing really helped, they all just made me more depressed. When I discovered yoga and a holistic way of living, life started to make sense. I learned that the combination of meditation, yoga, nutrition and radical self care was what I was looking for all along. Ayurveda was developed in India thousands of years ago, it is one of the world's most powerful mind-body health systems. It heals through holistic nutrition, herb therapy, massage, yoga, meditation and breath. I believe that with a strong mind-body-soul love and connection we can all be living at our highest potential. I plan to use Ayurveda to help others realize how wonderful they can feel with proper care, and to live in their higher self. I was introduced to Ayurveda about four years ago, and I have been completely intrigued ever since. I have bought numerous books, taken workshops, and even studied it in India. Now it's time to take the next step. I will be starting school at the California College of Ayurveda in January! I am beyond excited. I spent two and a half months in India this year studying yoga, meditation and Ayurveda and my life was forever changed. Since my trip, I have spent the whole year trying to find my life's purpose, it has been once of the hardest, yet most transformational years of my life. All year I was constantly thinking, how can I help heal people and be of great service to others? What is my mission life? What did I come here to do? I thought about my two biggest passions in life...nutrition and yoga. How can I incorporate these into a successful career? In September, while preparing for a journey in Costa Rica, a loud and clear voice came to my mind. A voice I had heard many times before but chose to ignore. Ayurveda...go to the Ayurveda college in Nevada City. Like so many times before, I tried to shut that little voice out...that little voice called my intuition, my soul. I tried to make excuses, it's too expensive, it's probably hard, maybe I'm not smart enough, maybe I'll do an online nutrition program instead, it's cheaper and faster. But a woman from the school and I had been emailing quite a bit and I was getting more excited about the school every day. One day she emailed me and told me about a $1,000 scholarship. I applied for the scholarship, said a prayer and sent it within days. The problem was, I snail mailed it. I didn't realize we were supposed to email or fax it to ensure fast delivery. They were choosing the winners soon and I had this bad feeling that I had no chance of mine getting there on time. So, I told the universe, "if i get this scholarship I will take it as a clear sign that I AM supposed to go to the school and take the Ayurvedic path, and if I don't get it, then I will take another path." The very next day I got an email saying I got it. It is confirmed by the power of this magical Universe, this is what I'm doing. I'm stepping in to this with faith, love and excitement!
The school is over $25,000. The cost of the school has held me back in the past, but I refuse to let money hold me back any longer. I will get loans and do whatever I can to make my dreams reality. I'm hoping to raise $5,000 through GoFundMe for my first year of school. So I'm asking YOU to believe in me and help fund my education. Help me make a difference in the world. I know I can help so many people with Ayurveda, because I truly believe in it. I was meditating this morning and the words came to mind "I am going to help millions of people through Ayurveda." Millions! That was my soul speaking, and I choose to believe it.
