Get Jim Beardsley Racing!

Anyone who knows my brother Jim Beardsley knows that he doesn't pay attention when he's told he has limitations. Despite what doctors told our parents, Jim walked, went to school, graduated high school, worked with disabled children, volunteered countless hours, and many other milestones. He is a great brother, uncle, and friend.

Recently, Jim was told that in order to preserve his health, he would need to use a wheelchair anywhere outside his own home. Discouraged at first, Jim shortly threw himself into his physical therapy and set a goal for himself-to train and complete a 5K. Jim finished his first 5K in September and his second in October. Problem is, the chair provided by his medical coverage is not designed for racing. At the end of the race, Jim is exhausted and bruised by the setup of his everyday chair.

He needs a chair that is made for racing-a  Top End Excelerator Stock Handcycle (see it at http://bike-on.com/ ). Medicare doesn't cover this, and his personal finances don't allow for it either. We're hoping friends and family will be able to help by donating whatever you can to help Jim achieve this goal!
