Decembers Feed Bill for the Rescues

Tower Hill Stables Animal Sanctuary provides a forever home to around 400 animals both domestic and ex-farm - all saved from either being put to sleep or slaughter.

It is run more or less alone by Fiona Oakes with her partner Martins help at the weekends. This is not a business and not what Fiona & Martin do for a living - he works for a Bank & Fiona is a fire-fighter

Each month they have to find at least £8000 to feed the rescued animals which include 53 horses, 20 dogs, 60 pigs together with sheep, goats, ducks, turkeys, cats, cows and numerous smaller animals

Vets costs and maintenance  such as repairs and projects are all additional costs.

In August this year the sanctuarys chief fund raiser Kaylie Day very sadly passed on aged 84 and with no-one to pick up the important work that Kaylie undertook the sanctuary has seen donations dwindle - despite Fiona's efforts to raise the profile of her work through her marathon running. Last year Fiona broke three guinness world records in the marathon but unfortunately  this was not reported by the national media - you can't accuse her of not trying !

So in Kaylie's memory we are setting up this campaign to see if we can raise enough money to cover the cost of Decembers feed bill to ensure that the animals are fed snug and warm for Christmas :)
