Help Mason Pay for Top Surgery!

Hello! My name is Mason, and I am starting this fundraiser to raise money for top surgery. Payment is due November 1st, 2022, three weeks before my surgery date on November 23rd.

With insurance coverage, my total out-of-pocket cost for the procedure is $6,452,22. I have placed a deposit of $1k. My surgeon has opted to add lateral chest liposuction to minimize the probability of "dog ears" occurring. "Dog ears" refer to excess skin left behind after a double incision mastectomy. Dog ears are a common issue that can be remedied with revisions after the surgery is complete or avoided entirely by removing excess skin before the procedure.

Based on my previous surgery quote in 2020, I had an idea of my total out-of-pocket cost. Unfortunately, my updated quote was higher than I expected and planned for. I have worked hard since 2020 to save funds for this surgery. In addition to saving funds, I spent the last year and a half in eating disorder recovery to ensure my body would be stable for surgery.

I currently work full time in Seattle, living in a studio apartment with my beagle, Piper. I struggle to adjust to life after full-time eating disorder treatment. I can confidently say that gender dysphoria has become a massive obstacle in allowing me to recover fully. This surgery will help me alleviate a great deal of that dysphoria. I am currently on a waiting list for a therapy practice that works with transgender individuals who suffer from eating disorders.

Anything donated here will go directly to my top surgery fund. I do not expect to reach the whole goal of $3k, as it is a high amount, but I know I need all the help I can get now. I'm honestly nervous to be as public with these personal topics as I am now, so I appreciate your understanding. Anything at all helps. I cannot thank you enough for your support.
