My name is Caysen, and I'm 20 years old, gay, and nonbinary for what it's worth. I'm working three jobs currently, and I'm still really struggling to make ends meet. As of February of 2021, our landlord is trying to illegally evict me and my three roommates, to the point that we are currently in the midst of a legal battle with her. It looks as if we will be able to break and leave our lease early. Despite this, this is a much sooner timeline to leave than I was expecting (our regular lease ends on May 30). Despite working nearly 14 hour days, I am still setting aside money for legal fees, new tires for my car, an engine service, and the costs to move. Currently I have $1,400 saved in order to move, which will barely cover most of my costs of moving into a new apartment. The current timeline to leave has been moved to (softly) March 22. This may be extended depending on court rulings, but our lawyer is having us prepare for the worst just in case. My roommates cannot help, as they barely have enough for the place that they are moving to (and I am leaving the state entirely). I have apartment and job applications filled and ready to send, but everything is up in the air at the moment, and I am unsure if I will be able to afford everything I need in time.
