Help Andy fight Cancer!

In the beginning of May, Andy went to our regular doctor for a swollen lymph node. He was referred to a surgeon for a hernia. Between that time and the actual surgery, he had a cat scan, mri, and multiple other tests. After the cat scan, the surgeon called and moved up Andy’s “hernia” surgery to the 15th of May, and instead told us it was going to be a biopsy. The scans had come back that if was not a hernia at all so they needed to figure out what this was. The biopsy happened and on May 20th we got the news that Andy has seminoma testicular cancer. We are being told this is 95% treatable. The treatment is going to be extremely aggressive and he will need to take time off work, with no offered short term disability to cover the time he his off, which will all be unpaid after he uses his 70 hours pto/sick time, which is mostly gone due to doctors appointment visits already. He will do one full week of chemo 5 days a week 5-6 hours a day and then the next two weeks once a week, and then that will repeat 3 times for a total of 12 weeks of chemo. The tumor is 8cm long and in his groin area as well as part of his stomach. So far he is a stage 2 patient. Today, June 4th he had his port put in. Andy’s chemo treatments will start on June 15th. Many people had asked if we had a link to help donate which is why we are making this. We already have $3,000 after insurance to pay and that was just from the biopsy, he has a high deductible to meet as well as anything after that it looks like we will be responsible for 20% and lost wages.
