Hurricane Matthew Humanitarian Relief With The Hunger Relief Initiative Inc.

Mission statement:

Manufacture and distribute humanitarian food rations in the wake of a disaster. 100% of funding used for specialized ready-to-eat food ration production and immediate distribution logistics. All labor and management is donated.

FLIGHT #1:

Current mission:

Hurricane Matthew is fast approaching some remote and isolated island communities. We are starting food production and logistics operations in preparation for strategic humanitarian relief.

Food ration production will take place on Wednesday, October 5th. Manufacturing will take the entire day to produce and vacuum package 1000 humanitarian food rations.

A dedicated team of volunteers are tracking the hurricane and its effects; the logistics plan will change as needed based on this information. We have local assets on the ground in the cone of probability to report actual post storm conditions. The plan is simple, we will load our 2500 cal food rations, search & rescue gear and other humanitarian supplies onto our plane and deploy directly to the people that need help. We are prepared to land on island airfields or airdrop as needed. Being a small operation with a single key contact within the emergency services branch of the Bahamas Government, we are able to quickly adapt our deployment in the field and without any bureaucracy. We will also assist the emergency efforts as required beyond our food deployment in whatever capacity capable.

History and relationships:

Although this specific campaign is a personal effort and these Go Fund Me contributions are not tax deductible, I have support from other individuals and groups. On May 1st, 2015, the nonprofit “Hunger Relief Initiative Inc” was founded in the State of Florida. The initial officer and current CEO is Aaron Pufal, owner of Expedition Research LLC and the makers of Tac-Bar Food Rations. This affiliation with Tac-Bar Food Rations enables us to produce the humanitarian food ration, which will take place at Tac-Bar’s FDA and Dade County inspected contract facility. All initial funding has been raised from the proceeds of the sale of Tac-Bar Tactical Food Rations and personal financial contributions from Aaron. Therefore, the only remaining costs are for food ingredients and logistics, which the purpose of this Hurricane Matthew Go Fund Me campaign will aid in the funding of those remaining costs.

How you can contribute:

Social media is the most powerful method of letting the public know about the Hunger Relief Initiative and the work that is being done.  Please share our Go Fund Me and Facebook pages. You can contribute to our current fundraising campaign, and remember funding is solely used for food and logistics, nothing more. Help us help those who need it in the wake of this destructive storm.
