Luckily, my grandparents and extended family have made it safely through the storm! Our main priority now is making sure that they have the supplies that they need to make it through the next days, weeks and possibly months without electricity. Things like batteries, extra flashlights, and water filters will go a long way.
Although it's still intact, my grandparents' roof has multiple leaks in it, so we hope that this money can go towards making the necessary repairs. Hurricane Maria was one of the most intense storms Puerto Rico has experienced in a long time but the island will continue to experience strong storms, a sturdy, leak-free roof is incredibly important.
My grandmother and grandfather are two of the most incredible people, their faith and positivity are felt by their family and friends every day. Being able to give them this would be only a fraction of what I wish and hope to be able to give them but it will go a long way.
Any donation will be so greatly appreciated! From the bottom of our hearts, thank you from the Wade family.
P.S. feel free to write your comments in Spanish!
A little about me & this campaign: I live in Irvine, California and moved from Puerto Rico to California back in 2006. This money is going to my grandparents and their neighbors. Once the campaign is over a check will be mailed to my parents who will be using it to buy the supplies needed in PR and getting a contractor to fix the roof of my grandparents home in Carolina, Puerto Rico.
