Help the Bruorton’s Recover

Ernest and Edith Bruorton, from Jupiter, Florida, made it through Hurricane Irma unscathed, but their house lost power, and they were using a generator outside on their back porch. They were counting their blessings when the worse happened.
On just their second night after the storm, at 2am on September 12th, there was an explosion and their home burned down.
Ernest, Edith and their adult son were sleeping and barely made it out in time. Luckily, the plywood had been taken off their windows, or they would have been trapped inside. Ernest was recovering from a recent heart surgery and was sleeping in the living room couch for the last week because it was easier for him to move around. Edith woke him up at 1:30am and told him to come to the bedroom because it was too hot. If he had been in the living room he would have been killed instantly. They are a couple of faith and we firmly believe that it was God's hands protecting them.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated, but firefighters believe that it was the generator they had been using.
The couple lost everything, including their sweet companion dog, Jazzy, but God was merciful and spared their lives. We are so thankful because of His love!
My name is Lu Lopes and I am a friend of their daughter Melanie Bruorton Leifert and her husband Terry Leifert – they come to our church, Spring Meadows SDA in Sanford, FL. Since they don't have any belongings, a computer or even an address at the moment, we are working with Melanie and Terry on helping their parents with their immediate needs, which are cash to help with medication, medical bills, hearing aids, food, rent, etc. We would love to support her family in this time of need.
