The Hannahs in Hurricane Harvey

As most of you know, Hurricane Harvey hit Texas with a vengeance this past week, destroying towns and flooding Houston and its surrounding area.
Scott, the kids, and I were able to seek shelter with my parents, Jeff and Sue, and have thankfully been safe and dry through the storm. Now that Harvey has left, Scott was able to assess the damage to our house in Katy, TX. The house flooded with about a foot of water inside that caused a lot of damage. We are renting our current house, so the work on the actual house is covered by our landlord's insurance and will not cost us anything. However, in the flooding, we lost the majority of our furniture (but thankfully, not our farmhouse table that Scott built!). We did prepare by placing all our non-furniture items up high to avoid any flood damage and Scott and some of our friends are currently working on removing those and bringing them to store in a dry place. We have estimated that it will cost about $5-6K to replace our furniture. We have applied for FEMA assistance as well and friends and family have been asking how they can help. The furniture is really our only major expense that we will be incurring from the flooding. We are also hoping to find replacements on sale and save as much money as we are able to. If we have any money left over, we will be donating it to help other families who have suffered and need assistance as well from Harvey. These are the items we will need/plan to replace:
our king size bed frame and mattress
two sets of bunk beds for the 4 oldest
computer desk
tv stand
couch
2 card tables
Scott's work bench
3 bookshelves that held our board games
2 bookshelves used for books
2 2x4 cubbies that stored the kids' clothes
