Hurricane Sally - Help My Mom Rebuild

On 9.16.20 Hurricane Sally hit the Gulf Coast of Alabama & Panhandle Florida. During the hurricane as my mother slept, a large oak came crashing down in the back of her house. Some how she slept straight through the impact. We are fortunate her room is not in the back of the house or any of us were there during the hurricane or someone would have been sleeping in the room that was hit. My brother went to go check on her and discovered all 3 large oak trees had fallen in the back yard and 1 sliced through mom’s house and 1 sliced through the neighbor’s house. Again, very fortunate no one was hurt in both houses. In August, my mother found out her cancer has returned and she’s been under going chemo treatments. On Sunday, she started to feel sick and discovered bruising all over the sides of her body and due to the stress of losing her little sanctuary, she had a break down. My sister-in-law drover her to the ER however because of Covid she was in the hospital by herself. After blood test, they decided to give her 2 pints of blood and fluids. She was discharged around 1am and my brother and I took over so she could just rest and heal. We began with Tree Removal, packed up her house and secured everything. Met with the insurance adjuster and we are waiting on contractor bids to come through. My mom will be displaced for 4 to 6 months. It’s been frustrating trying to find a short term rental or someone that will work with her. By the grace of God or Universe, we have a local property manager that is providing us a home for her until her home is rebuilt. We are asking for help with her medical expenses, deductible and anything insurance will not cover. It’s a long road ahead.
